As members of Resolution, the community of family justice professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive way, we are pleased to support its annual awareness-raising “Good Divorce Week”.
This year, the campaign highlights the crisis in the family courts and raises awareness of all the different ways families can resolve their disputes away from Court – where it is safe and appropriate to do so – and how Resolution members such as Bates Wells & Braithwaite can guide families through that process.
Managing Partner Denise Head is particularly pleased with this year’s focus on alternative dispute resolution. “As a trained collaborative lawyer and family mediator, I totally support the concept of pursuing out-of-court options and encouraging discussion and dialogue in a non-confrontational and cost-effective way to reach the best possible outcome for the separating couple and their children. Sadly these options are now of crucial importance because of the huge backlogs in this country’s family courts.”
